Prehistoric Farm’s loop has five links and the game does not hand you a map of them. Work down this list once and you will have done every step in the published loop at least once, which is the point at which the game starts making sense on its own.
Why this order
The list is not arbitrary. It follows the sequence in the official description — dig, complete a set, lab, incubator, feed, ride, explore — because that sequence is the only published statement about how the game is meant to unfold.
Within that, the early items are deliberately small. “Complete one dig, whatever the result” exists because new players often spend their first ten minutes trying to perfect the meter before they have seen what a dig produces. Do the bad version first; it tells you what you are optimising.
The three green-zone releases come before the first complete set for the same reason. The official description says green gets you a better find, so a few successful releases early means the set you are assembling is built out of better finds rather than out of whatever fell out while you were learning.
The two measurement items — the hatch timer and the belly check — are where you stop being a reader and start being a source. Those are the numbers this entire site is currently missing, and they come from players with stopwatches, not from guesswork.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Are my ticks saved?
In your own browser, yes — they live in local storage on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere and we cannot see them. Clearing your browser data clears the list.
Is this the fastest route through the game?
It is the complete route. Nobody can publish a fastest route yet, because the costs and timers that would make one meaningful have not been published.
What if an item does not match what I see in game?
Tell us. The checklist follows the official description of the loop, so a mismatch is either an update or an error on our side, and both are worth a correction.
