The three confirmed facts
It is cooperative. “Team up” is the developer’s word. Whatever the encounter is, it was not designed around one player poking a sea monster alone.
It uses spears. A named weapon in a farming game is a real signal — it implies a combat item you acquire or craft, distinct from the shovel you dig with.
It is big. “Giant” is doing the work of a difficulty rating here. Combined with the cooperative framing, treat it as endgame content rather than something to wander into.
Everything else about it — health, phases, arena, timer, rewards, respawn, whether it can kill you, how spears are obtained — is unpublished.
Where it sits in progression
The Mosasaurus is in the water, in the same part of the description as diving, fishing and the Sunken Grotto. That puts it downstream of the boat line: you are not reaching it from your starting dock, and the realistic path to it runs through exploration upgrades rather than through farm upgrades.
